PART 1: Definitions

1. “Active” is a membership status that results from purchasing your IFBB PRO card. You must have “Active” membership status to compete in IFBB PRO contests.

2. “Inactive” is a membership status that results when

  • you initially create your IFBB PRO member account, or
  • when your “Active” membership status expires.

PART 2: New Members

3. You have ONE YEAR from the date you earn your IFBB PRO card to create your member account with the IFBB Professional League; otherwise, you lose your right to apply for your IFBB PRO card, and you must requalify at a Pro Qualifier contest.

4. You create your member account at www.ifbbpromembership.com.

5. Your member account must be approved by the IFBB Professional League.

6. You have ONE YEAR from the date you create your member account to purchase your IFBB PRO card, which changes your membership status to “Active”; otherwise, your IFBB PRO status is canceled, and you must requalify at a Pro Qualifier contest.

7. Your “Active” membership is valid for the calendar year in which you purchase your IFBB PRO card. Your “Active” membership expires on December 31 of each year regardless of the date your IFBB PRO card was purchased.

PART 3: Renewing Members

8. If you are an IFBB PRO athlete who has allowed your “Active” membership status to expire and return to “Inactive” status, you may renew by logging in to your member account and purchasing your IFBB PRO card.

9. Your renewal must be approved by the IFBB Professional League.

PART 4: The “Three-Year Rule”

10. The “Three-Year Rule” is intended to allow you an “Inactive” period during which you are not required to purchase your IFBB PRO card to maintain IFBB PRO status.

11. Starting January 1, 2024, your membership status may remain “Inactive” for a maximum of THREE CONSECUTIVE YEARS. If your membership status is not “Active” by the end of the third consecutive year, your IFBB PRO status is canceled, and you must requalify at a Pro Qualifier contest.

12. For athletes who held IFBB PRO cards prior to January 1, 2024, and who have not purchased IFBB PRO cards on or after January 1, 2024,

  • you are not subject to the “Three-Year Rule”, and
  • you are not at risk of losing your IFBB PRO status.

However, once you purchase your IFBB PRO card on or after January 1, 2024, you are subject to the “Three-Year Rule”.
