AMIT SWAMI, RECEIVES IFBB ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Noted bodybuilding promoter, prominent youth activist and President of the Young Men’s Association of India, Amit Swami, is the proud recipient of the prestigious IFBB ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, which was presented to Mr. Swami by the Founder and Honorary Life President of the IFBB, Dr. Ben Weider, C.M., C.St.J, C.Q., Ph.D., of Montreal, Canada.

This high honor was bestowed upon Mr. Swami for his outstanding contributions over the past decade towards the promotion of Bodybuilding and Fitness among the youth of India, as well as for being a Goodwill Ambassador for the Sport of Bodybuilding and Fitness.
Amit Swami is the youngest recipient of this unique award. In 1999, Mr. Swami’s friend Dorian Yates, six-time IFBB Mr. Olympia, paid a special visit to India to present seminars to young people, advocating a fit and healthy lifestyle. This was the first visit to India by a Mr. Olympia and Dorian’s efforts were very successful in raising the profile of bodybuilding among India’s youth. Since then, Amit Swami and Dorian have been actively involved in charity work in India. For their invaluable contributions towards the Tsunami Relief Fund in 2004, both Mr. Swami and Dorian were recognized by the Indian Red Cross Society.
The ongoing campaign by Amit Swami to promote bodybuilding is supported by another good friend, Dalip Singh, aka "The Great Khali", WWE champion and Hollywood film star (The Longest Yard).

The widely traveled Amit Swami has inspired the youth of every nation he has visited to adopt Bodybuilding and Fitness in their daily life style; to stay away from drugs, tobacco and alcohol; and to contribute in a positive manner to society and to their countries in keeping with the longtime motto of Dr. Ben Weider, "Bodybuilding is important for Nation Building."
Recently, Amit Swami was selected by the Government of India as a Youth Leader to represent India at the Japan-South Asia Youth Friendship Program, which was held in Japan in December 2007. As a bodybuilding ambassador-at-large, Amit Swami was a strong advocate as he briefed and motivated government officials from the many countries that participated in the Program.
Mr. Swami has also been recognized and awarded by numerous National and International organizations for his efforts to promote bodybuilding, youth development and social service.
